i saw michael moore's film fahrenheit 9/11 the afternoon it opened in san diego, and it was good. (grade = b)

the bush administration -- and this isn't new news -- has wanted war in iraq way before september 11, 2001. it's because there's a lot of oil over there and bush has many friends, many of whom he owes for past investments into his failed companies, who are in the business of ensuring the delivery of oil and gas products.

moore's film placed many pieces of this gigantic jigsaw puzzle known as the bush administration's rush to war post 9/11/01 in an easily consumable timeline, which interestingly enough the popular corporate press fails to do.

there's a lot of emotion to experience in this movie. laughter, disgust, sadness, happiness and brutal honesty by some of the on-screen characters.

part of moore's intent for fahrenheit 9/11 is do derail the re-election bid of george w. bush and i hope moore succeeds.

What is a Suicaine, anyway? Don't know, but it's all been resoundingly gratifiying--and even more so with the release of this year's COME FEEL ME TREMBLE, the latest in this artist's

jeff tweedy is quoted: "I was having a tougher time getting all the emotion I wanted to get out of the words," Tweedy says. "I started to trust my guitar-playing more, just by working at it, and I felt a lot of things come out that I wasn't able to get to lyrically. I'm not as fast or proficient as 90 percent of the guitarists out there making a living. But I can sound like me." (from today's chicago tribune online)

"i can sound like me" is good.

In the midst of a worldwide debate on whether depressed children should be treated with antidepressant drugs like Prozac, a landmark government-financed study has found that Prozac helps teenagers overcome depression far better than talk therapy. But a combination of the two treatments, the study found, produced the best result. (more)
