I've never seen a poll of Iraqis until today. (it's here from the nytimes.com)

NASA's budget was increased by 5% for FY 2005, while most of the other government agencies were cut.
I think it's safe to infer that the recent successes of the Mars Exploration Rover missions were icing on that budget increase cake. (Better public relations by NASA since the last shuttle crash helped out, too.)
America's space exploration policy is one of the bright spots in the otherwise disheartening policies of the Bush administration.

Guided by Voices, one of the best rock bands during the 90's to now, have decided to break up, but before they do, a final tour was undertaken, and what a show it was.
I've been listening to the live show and it rulz. Almost three hours of non-stop rock and stage banter from Robert Pollard, the key man of GBV.
Cheers to GBV and their great run, which has afforded me a bunch of new friends and a lot of great memories.
Look for my digital GBV memoir in the coming days.

At 5 P.M. Saturday, November 13th will be a barbecue at my place to celebrate my 40th birthday. On the menu are squash, corn, chicken, pork steaks and what guests will bring forth.
Happy birthday to me.

Don Evans, commerce secretary, and a close friend of george w. bush from Texas, and John Ashcroft, Bush's attorney general, and a cabinet selection which sealed the political support of the right-wing social conservatives within the republican party, have resigned.
Hallelujah!
John Ashcroft, in particular, was a welcome announcement. His anti-abortion stances were way too the right for this blogger. Mr. Ashcroft can now go into private enterprise and begin lobbying the administration he just served.
Though I chose Colin Powell as the first departure for a 2nd Bush Administration, I'm pleased to hear of Ashcroft's resignation.
Let's hope Bush accepts the man's desire to leave.

The CBEST is a test California that teachers are required to pass before they can become educators. I passed with a 133. The minimum is a 123. (If the minimum wasn't good enough, it would not be called the minimum, right?)
It's time for my personal news blackout.
Anyway, I've started the process to become a substitute teacher in San Diego County Schools.
I never dreamed that November 3, 2004 could be so depressing.
Who will be the first Cabinet member to leave the Bush administration? I bet it will be Colin Powell, and it will happen before Inauguration Day.
I'm not hung-over from my Manhattans. I'm hung because of extreme amounts of stupid america.

today is vote day, and i'm feeling more confident each day--for the past two weeks--that kerry will be our next president.
it's election day & that means that the winners will have their campaign signage dismantled in an expeditious manner, while the losers' tend to hang around on poles a little longer.
supporters of the losing candidate will have bumper stickers off their cars faster than the winners' supporters.
have you read the nytimes article about titan, one of saturn's moons? apparently it's ... uh .... "alien."
