Sitting below the Okocim umbrella, Mike, Tracey and I partook in Polish cuisine, beer and entertainment. The event was titled "26th Annual Taste of Polonia," held in Chicago at the corner of Milwaukee Ave and Lawrence Ave.

Sox!

Here I am sitting in the bleacher section of U.S. Cellular Field, home of the Chicago White Sox. The Sox, or pale hose, defeated the Detroit Tigers on saturday evening 6-2.

Pictured to my left is my buddy Geoff Atkinson. Geoff and I were in the company of Travis, who was enjoying his bachelor party with a baseball game. After the game we went to Travis's loft and drank more beer.

Clay, my buddy who currently lives in New Orleans, responding to my email seeking his whereabouts and condition, replied that he's okay and that he was headed south to review the damage to his N.O. property.

Clay spent October/November 2003 with me in San Diego during the wildfires. He's used to dealing with a few disasters.

Chicago observation #1: In this city, iPods are EVERYWHERE. On the sides of the subway and elevated trains are advertisements for Apple iPods. On the sides of buildings are advertisements for iPods. On the subway train you can count on seeing at least one pair white headphone cables connected to the ear of a train rider. It's surely a phenomenon
