1987 was probably the replacements' artistic high-point for me. "pleased to meet me" was released that year, and i remember not being moved to buy it when i first heard it. my drummer in the country/punk band i played in at the time eventually bought it and was playing it often at his house parties in charleston, illinois, to which i was a party. ptmm was one of those albums that snuck up on me and grabbed me.

after reading about the billbray win over busby in the special election for duke cunningham's former congressional seat, i've come to this prediction for 2006: republicans will maintain control of the government for two more years.

i've come to a revelation recently that candidates tend to show more of their progressiveness during state-wide elections, more so than if they were running a national election. and that buffalo wings are a great-tasting snack, and why hasn't anybody come up with a buffalo wing artificial flavoring to flavor synthetic potato snacks? (kids would love it)

i recently made 10 pounds of buffalo wings, (actually it was the monday of memorial day 2006) and they didn't have the presentation as the one above. mine were a little different; they were made with a new mexico red chili sauce, which was spicy, buttery, and delicious.
